FRONT OF MIND vs Covve: Scanning the Card vs Sending the Text
Looking for a Covve alternative? Covve scans cards and badges with high accuracy. FRONT OF MIND tells you who to text today and why. October 2026 pricing.
By Brett Kaufman. 8 years using relationships to build sales pipelines, from political fundraising to a 7 figure business to running matchmaking for two communities. Over 1,000 introductions facilitated.
Covve is the better pick if your main job is capturing business cards and event badges accurately at volume, in any language, and syncing them to a company CRM. FRONT OF MIND is the better Covve alternative if you already have the names and need the next step: who to text today, why, and the text written in your voice.
Full disclosure: I built FRONT OF MIND. So here is where Covve wins, plainly.
Here is the night most people search this. You scanned 30 badges at a deal conference. A week later, 22 of those people have heard nothing from you, and at least three were a broker, a banker or an owner who could have sent you a deal. The scan worked. The text never went out.
What does Covve do well?
Covve is a very good scanner, and that is what it is built for. Its homepage opens with “Your Network. Actually Working.” and claims 96% accuracy across 60+ languages, online or offline. (Covve)
As of October 2026, from Covve’s own pages:
- Card, badge and QR scanning. It scans paper business cards, event badges and LinkedIn QR codes. Unlimited card and QR scanning is on every plan, and event badge scanning is on Pro. (Covve pricing)
- Voice capture. You can create contacts and notes by speaking the details, and Covve transcribes them. (Covve for individuals)
- AI research. Its research assistant enriches contacts with LinkedIn profiles and website links, so you know more about someone before you follow up. (Covve for individuals)
- Reminders and news. Its personal CRM page describes smart reminders that tell you when you are losing touch, notes on your calls, and curated news affecting your contacts. (Covve personal CRM)
- CRM sync. Essential sends contacts to your phone, Excel, Google Contacts, Outlook and Zapier. Enterprise adds HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Teams. Pro adds a web admin portal, real time analytics and seat reassignment. Enterprise adds SSO, audit logs and a 99.95% availability SLA.
- Your own digital business card. Pro includes a custom branded one. FRONT OF MIND does not offer a shareable business card of your own.
- Native apps. Covve links to its app on the Apple App Store and Google Play. FRONT OF MIND has no native iPhone app yet.
- Security. Covve lists ISO 27001 and GDPR compliance.
If every badge your team scans has to land in Salesforce by Monday, Covve is the right tool.

What does FRONT OF MIND do that Covve does not?
FRONT OF MIND decides who matters this morning and hands you the text. Covve’s pages describe capture, research, reminders and sync. I did not find a daily list of who to text with a reason, or drafts in your own voice.
- Research on what your contacts posted this week. It checks LinkedIn, X, Instagram and the news, and only shows a post once it is confirmed to be that person. Every item is dated, so you never congratulate a banker on someone else’s promotion.
- Drafts in your own texting voice. Record your voice once in Settings. Every draft is a short text, 40 words max, and it learns from your edits. Nothing sends without your tap.
- Intros with dated proof on both sides. You see intros to make this week, and the reason each person needs the other, with dates, so you connect two people for something current.
- A weekly report that follows the money. Messages sent, replies, meetings booked, deals, and the best story of the week. You can trace the post, the text, the reply, the meeting and the deal.
- Event capture that ends in a text. Say a name and a sentence out loud, snap a card or badge, scan a LinkedIn, Instagram or badge QR code, or take a selfie together. It is filed under the event, and the follow up text includes your booking link.
- Ask your network. Ask Liala “who do I know that is an M&A advisor” or “who lives in Miami” and get the right people.
Where does the money actually show up?
The money shows up in three places a scanner does not reach.
Who to text today, and why. You open your phone to your 10 minutes for today. A sell side broker you met at an event never got a follow up. A lender posted about a new program. A deal in your pipeline has gone quiet for a week. Each name has a one line reason and a draft. You send three texts before your first call, and the broker about to take a mandate hears from you this week.
The intro that pays you. Say a CPA mentioned a client thinking about retiring, and a searcher you know is buying in that exact industry. That is an intro worth making, and in many deals worth a fee or a favor that comes back. FRONT OF MIND puts it in front of you with dated proof on both sides, before the window closes.
The deal that finds you because you were recent. When a listing hits, a broker calls the few buyers who come to mind first. Being recent beats being impressive, and ten minutes a day keeps you recent with the people who send deals. For the event version, read who to follow up with first after a conference and the 48 hour rule for networking follow up.

Can you use Covve and FRONT OF MIND together?
Yes. If you scan hundreds of badges at trade shows, scan with Covve, export to your phone contacts, and import them into FRONT OF MIND, which decides who in that pile, and in the 1,000 names already in your phone, to text this morning. If you meet 20 to 40 people a month, FRONT OF MIND’s own capture is probably enough. The full event workflow is in the conference follow up system.
Which one should you pick?
Pick Covve if accurate scanning at volume, badge capture, many languages, a native app, a digital business card or syncing to a company CRM is the job.
Pick FRONT OF MIND if your income comes from who calls you first, and you want to open your phone each morning to the few people worth texting, why, and a draft that sounds like you.
Every other head to head is in personal CRM comparisons, and the full field is in best personal CRM for deal makers.
