Cloze Alternative for Deal Makers: FRONT OF MIND vs Cloze
Looking for a Cloze alternative? Cloze logs your email, calls and texts. FRONT OF MIND picks who to text today and why. Honest comparison, 2026 prices.
By Brett Kaufman. 8 years using relationships to build sales pipelines, from political fundraising to a 7 figure business to running matchmaking for two communities. Over 1,000 introductions facilitated.
The best Cloze alternative for a deal maker depends on the job. Keep Cloze if you want every email, meeting and call logged automatically with reminders on top; pick FRONT OF MIND if you want to open your phone to the few brokers, bankers or owners worth texting today, the reason why, and a draft ready to send.
Full disclosure: I built FRONT OF MIND. So I will be straight about where Cloze wins, and it wins on a few things.
Here is the moment you are probably in. Your Cloze agenda says you have 31 people to reach out to this week. Somewhere in that list is the sell side banker who just took on a new mandate. He will call two or three buyers first. The question is not whether Cloze logged your last email to him. It is whether anything tells you, this morning, that he is the one to text.
What is Cloze, in one paragraph?
Cloze is a relationship CRM that builds itself from your email, calendar and calls. Per its pricing page, Cloze Pro “automatically organizes mail by people, company, project and deal,” logs calls, adds action items from your email to an Agenda, and “automatically reminds you when it’s time to reach out to key people.” Higher Business plans add team views, text message syncing for iOS and Android, and campaign automation. Its homepage today is pitched to real estate brokerages (ai.cloze.com), but the product works for any relationship business.
Where is Cloze better than FRONT OF MIND?
Cloze is better if you want a complete, automatic record of every conversation. Be clear on that before you read the rest.
- No data entry logging. Cloze pulls email, meetings, calls, files and notes into one timeline per person. FRONT OF MIND does not try to be your full activity log.
- Email tools. Cloze Pro includes open tracking, reply reminders, templates, mail merge and scheduled send. If you work mostly over email, that is real value. FRONT OF MIND drafts short texts, not email campaigns.
- Teams. Business Silver and up add a team wide view of who last talked to whom, assigned responsibility and privacy controls. FRONT OF MIND is built for one person.
- Campaigns. Business Platinum adds campaign automation and newsletters. FRONT OF MIND has no automated sending. Nothing sends without your tap.
- A native app. Cloze has an iOS app. FRONT OF MIND has no native iPhone app yet. It runs in your phone’s browser and can be saved to your home screen.
- A free plan. Cloze keeps you on a free plan with contact management and email inbox after the trial ends.
If those are your needs, Cloze is a strong choice. Do not let my page talk you out of it.
What does FRONT OF MIND do that Cloze does not?
FRONT OF MIND decides who matters today and tells you why, in about 10 minutes. Cloze reminds you that it has been a while. Those are different. A reminder that you have not emailed a broker in 60 days is true and not very useful. A reason to text him today is what gets the call.
After 1,000+ introductions across two communities, logging people was never my hard part. Knowing who to reach this morning was. So FRONT OF MIND is built around that one decision.
- A short list, not an agenda. You open it to your 10 minutes for today. Every name has a one line reason: they posted, it is their birthday, you met at an event 12 days ago and never followed up, a follow up is due, a pipeline deal has been quiet 7+ days, their company was in the news, or they are going cold.
- Drafts that read like texts. Every draft is 40 words max, written the way you would text a banker you know. It learns from your edits.
- Only confirmed signals. A post is only shown if it is confirmed to belong to that person.
- Capture in seconds. At an event, say a name and a sentence out loud, snap a business card or badge, or take a selfie together. It is filed under the event.
- Ask your network. Ask Liala out loud, “who do I know that is an M&A advisor,” and get the right people with the reason why.
- Intros to make this week. Each one comes with dated proof on both sides.

Is a Cloze alternative worth it for a broker or searcher?
Only if your problem is choosing, not logging. Use this quick test before you switch anything.
- Open your Cloze agenda tomorrow morning.
- Count the people on it you would actually text today.
- For each one, ask whether you know a current, specific reason to reach out.
- If you have three or more names with real reasons, Cloze is doing the job. Keep it.
- If you have a long list and no reasons, the gap is the daily decision, and that is what FRONT OF MIND is built for.
That five minute test is the decision table most comparison pages skip. A reminder engine and a reason engine look the same on a feature grid. They feel very different on a Tuesday in diligence.
Can you use Cloze and FRONT OF MIND together?
Yes. Here is how I would split it. Keep Cloze as the record of every email and meeting, especially if your team shares it. Use FRONT OF MIND for the 10 minutes each morning where you pick the broker, CPA or owner to text and send it. The relationships that produce off market deals are usually the ones with no open thread in your inbox, which is exactly where a log has nothing new to show you.

How I would choose
Pick Cloze if you want an automatic log of email, calls and meetings, email tracking and mail merge, a team view, or a free plan you can stay on.
Pick FRONT OF MIND if your income depends on who calls you first and you want to open your phone each morning to the few people worth texting today, the reason why, and a draft that sounds like you.
