Best Personal CRM for Mac: Native Apps vs Browser Tabs
The best personal CRM for Mac, checked October 2026: which tools have a real macOS app, which run in a browser tab, what each costs, and which fits your day.
By Brett Kaufman. 8 years using relationships to build sales pipelines, from political fundraising to a 7 figure business to running matchmaking for two communities. Over 1,000 introductions facilitated.
The best personal CRM for Mac is Mesh if you want a free macOS app for up to 1,000 contacts, Daylite if you want a fully Apple native CRM for a service business, and Dex if you want a clean rolodex with LinkedIn sync. Most other options, including Cloze, HubSpot and FRONT OF MIND, run in a browser tab on a Mac.
Full disclosure: I built FRONT OF MIND, and it has no Mac app. So I checked each tool’s Mac story on its own site or the Mac App Store on October 28, 2026, and I will tell you where they beat mine.
Here is the honest question behind this search. You do your deep work at a MacBook: the LOI, the model, the diligence list. You want your people in the same place. But the moment that matters, the text to a broker after he posts about a closed deal, happens on your phone in a cab. So the right Mac CRM is the one whose Mac app and phone app tell the same story.
Which personal CRMs have a real Mac app?
Four of the tools I checked offer a Mac app. The rest are browser tabs.
| Tool | How it runs on a Mac | Free plan | Paid from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mesh | macOS app, plus Mesh for Safari on the Mac App Store | Up to 1,000 contacts | $10 a month |
| Daylite | Apple native app for Mac, iPhone and iPad | No, 14 day trial | $15 a month billed annually |
| Dex | macOS app listed on its homepage, plus a Chrome extension | No, 6 day trial | $12 a month billed annually |
| Notion | Mac desktop app for Apple Silicon and Intel | Yes | $10 a member a month |
| Cloze | Browser, with Gmail and Outlook integrations | Yes, after trial | $17 a month billed annually |
| HubSpot | Browser on desktop, apps on iOS and Android | Yes, 2 users and 1,000 contacts | Paid editions |
| Covve | Web portal on Pro, app on your phone | No, 14 day trial | $12 a month |
| FRONT OF MIND | Browser | First 25 contacts and 1 intro | $29 a month |
Use the table as a shortcut: native app versus browser tab, and what you pay for each.
Is Daylite the best Mac native CRM?
For a service business on Apple hardware, yes. For a personal network, it is more than you need.
Daylite’s homepage calls it award winning Mac CRM software and says it is “Only for Mac, iPhone, and iPad.” It combines your CRM, sales pipeline, project management, email, calendar, tasks and notes in one app, and it is aimed at people who sell their time and expertise: consultants, attorneys and similar firms. Its companion iPhone app is rated 4.4 from 441 ratings on the App Store.
Per Daylite pricing, Leap is $15 a month billed annually or $20 monthly for 1 user and 500 contacts. Growth is $30 a user annually or $40 monthly with up to 25,000 contacts. 14 day trial, no free plan. If you have 1,400 contacts, Leap is too small and you are on Growth.
Is Mesh good on a Mac?
Yes, and it is the best free choice with a Mac app.
Mesh’s pricing page lists macOS, web, Windows and iOS apps. Its App Store listing says it requires macOS 12.0 or later on Mac, and the listing is rated 4.4 from 765 ratings. The free Personal plan covers up to 1,000 contacts and imports from email, calendar, LinkedIn, X, Facebook and iMessage, with reconnect prompts, reminders, birthdays and job change updates.
On a Mac, Mesh feels like the address book Apple never built. What it does not do is decide for you who to text this morning. Pro at $10 a month removes the contact cap.
What about Dex and Notion on a Mac?
Both work well at a desk, for different reasons.
- Dex lists web, iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and a Chrome extension on its homepage. It is a polished rolodex with LinkedIn and inbox history and keep in touch reminders on a cadence you set. Premium is $12 a month billed annually or $20 monthly, per Dex pricing. Its App Store listing is for iPhone, so on a Mac you use the desktop app or the web.
- Notion has a Mac desktop app in Universal, Apple Silicon and Intel builds, and a free plan. You build the CRM yourself. That is freedom at a desk and friction on a phone at 10 pm. I covered where a Notion CRM breaks for deal makers.
Does a browser tab CRM lose anything on a Mac?
Less than you would expect, if the tool is fast.
On a Mac, a browser tab gives you the same screen size, keyboard and copy and paste as an app. What you lose is mostly menu bar access, offline use and deep integration with Apple Contacts and Mail. Daylite is the one tool here that leans into Mail. Cloze leans on Gmail and Outlook instead.
Here is a simple way to decide, in four steps:
- Count where your follow ups happen. For a week, note whether each text or email to an intermediary was sent from your Mac or your phone.
- If most were from your phone, pick the tool with the best phone experience and treat the Mac version as a review screen. Native Mac matters little.
- If most were from your Mac, weight email integration heavily: Cloze, Daylite or Dex.
- If you need a pipeline shared with a partner, pick a team CRM and keep a personal tool beside it.
For most people whose income comes from their network, step 2 wins. The broker texts you. You text back.
Where does FRONT OF MIND fit for a Mac user?
It runs in the browser, so you can open it on your Mac, but it is built for your phone. There is no native Mac or iPhone app yet. On iPhone you can save it to your home screen.
It opens on your 10 minutes for today. Each person has a one line reason why today: they posted, it is their birthday, you met at an event 9 days ago and never followed up, a follow up is due, a pipeline deal has been quiet 7+ days, their company was in the news, or they are going cold. Every person comes with a draft written like a text, 40 words max. Nothing sends without your tap, and it learns from your edits. Ask Liala out loud, “who lives in Miami,” before a trip and get the right people with why.
Where the Mac options beat mine. Daylite is truly Apple native. Mesh has a macOS app and 1,000 free contacts. Dex has a desktop app and a Chrome extension. FRONT OF MIND has none of those. Use one of them as your record if you like, and FRONT OF MIND for the morning list.
Contacts are encrypted. No one on our team looks at them. Export and delete anytime.
