Popl Alternative for Deal Makers: FRONT OF MIND vs Popl
Looking for a Popl alternative? Popl shares your card and scans badges for teams. FRONT OF MIND tells you who to text after, and why. October 2026 comparison.
By Brett Kaufman. 8 years using relationships to build sales pipelines, from political fundraising to a 7 figure business to running matchmaking for two communities. Over 1,000 introductions facilitated.
Pick Popl if you want to hand out your card and run event capture for a team: badge scans, enrichment and sync into Salesforce or HubSpot. Pick FRONT OF MIND, a Popl alternative for what happens after, if you are one deal maker who already has the names and needs to know who to text today, why, and what to say.
Full disclosure: I built FRONT OF MIND. So here is exactly where Popl is better, from its own site, as of October 2026.
Here is the moment most people search this. Your firm bought booth space. Everyone scanned badges for two days, and every contact landed in the CRM by Monday. That part worked. But the owner you had coffee with on day one, the one who told you to call after the first quarter, is now a row in a system no one opens. Capture was never the hard part. The next text is.
What does Popl do well?
Popl describes itself as an AI go to market platform for events: capture contacts, scan badges, enrich the data and sync it all to your CRM. (Popl) It is built for teams that work the show floor.
- Your card. Digital business cards for teams and individuals, plus NFC cards. (Popl digital business cards)
- A universal badge scanner. It scans event badges, paper business cards and QR codes, works offline, and lets you qualify each contact in the same app. (Popl badge scanner)
- Enrichment and sync. AI enrichment of person and company data, and 30+ integrations including Salesforce, HubSpot and Marketo.
- Event tools. Event flows with qualifying questions, calendar booking on the show floor, AI voice recording of in person meetings, ROI reporting, marketing attribution and an AI assistant called Ask Popl.
- Simple team pricing. Its pricing page promises unlimited users, events and scans, no per seat fees, no extra cost for CRM integrations, SOC 2 Type 2 security and a dedicated success manager. (Popl pricing)
If your marketing team needs every badge from every event in Salesforce with ROI attached, Popl is the right tool. FRONT OF MIND does not have a shareable digital card, team or shared pipelines, or CRM integrations.

What does FRONT OF MIND do that Popl does not?
Popl measures the event for the company. FRONT OF MIND works the relationship for you. It opens every morning on your 10 minutes for today: who to text, and a one line reason why today.
- Research on what your contacts posted this week. LinkedIn, X, Instagram and the news, shown only when confirmed to be that person, and dated.
- Drafts in your own texting voice. Short texts, 40 words max. Record your voice once in Settings and it learns from your edits. Nothing sends without your tap.
- Intros with dated proof on both sides. Intros to make this week, each with a current reason for both people.
- A weekly report. Messages sent, replies, meetings booked, deals, and the best story of the week, so you can see the text that turned into a reply, the reply that turned into a meeting, and the meeting that turned into a deal.
- Event capture for one person. Say a name and a sentence out loud, snap a business card or badge, scan a LinkedIn, Instagram or badge QR code, or take a selfie together. It is filed under the event, with a follow up text that includes your booking link.
- Ask your network. Ask Liala, “who do I know that is an M&A advisor” or “who lives in Miami.”
Where is the money in the follow up?
The scan proves you were at the event. The text is what gets you paid. Say you come home with 40 contacts, and three of them matter this quarter. Here is how that turns into money.
- Who to text today and why. The owner from day one shows up on your list because you met at the event and never followed up. One line tells you why today, with a draft that references the coffee, so the text goes out this week, not next month.
- The intro that pays you. A lender you met asked who is buying in her region. FRONT OF MIND shows an intro to make this week to a searcher you know, with dated proof on both sides. If they close, two people owe you a favor and you sit closer to the next deal.
- The deal that finds you because you were recent. A broker posted about a new mandate. It shows up dated and confirmed, with a 40 word draft. When he builds his short list, you are the name he heard from last week.
A badge in a CRM does none of that by itself. Someone still has to decide who to text this morning.
What does each one cost?
As of October 2026, Popl does not publish team prices. Its pricing page says pricing is quoted over a meeting, with unlimited users, events and scans and no per seat or consumption fees. It also links to a separate app for individuals; I could not see that app’s price on popl.co.
FRONT OF MIND: free for your first 25 contacts and 1 intro, then $29 a month. Concierge setup is $500. If FRONT OF MIND doesn’t surface people in your network worth reaching out to within 72 hours, we’ll refund you. No questions asked.
Is FRONT OF MIND a Popl alternative, or do you use both?
For the company card and booth scanning, no: keep Popl. For your own follow up, yes. Here is how I would run it. Let Popl feed the company CRM. Save the people who matter to you in your phone, import your phone, Gmail and calendar into FRONT OF MIND, and let it pick who to text each morning.
If badges are your main capture method, read how to get badge scans into your phone. For a scanner comparison, see FRONT OF MIND vs Covve, and every head to head is in personal CRM comparisons.
