Clay Personal CRM Alternatives for Deal Makers in 2026

Clay personal CRM alternatives now that Clay is Mesh: Dex, folk, Covve, Cloze, Monica, Nat and FRONT OF MIND compared, with October 2026 prices.

By Brett Kaufman. 8 years using relationships to build sales pipelines, from political fundraising to a 7 figure business to running matchmaking for two communities. Over 1,000 introductions facilitated.

The main Clay personal CRM alternatives in 2026 are Dex, folk, Covve, Cloze, Monica, Nat and FRONT OF MIND, since Clay itself is now Mesh. Pick by job: Dex or Mesh for a synced address book, folk or Cloze for a team, Covve for card scanning, and FRONT OF MIND for who to text today.

Full disclosure: I built FRONT OF MIND. I will be fair to every tool here, including Mesh.

Here is the moment most people search this. You open Mesh on a Sunday. It shows you a banker changed firms, a founder you know was in the news, and three birthdays. Good information. Then Monday hits, you get pulled into a quality of earnings call, and none of it turns into a message. You start wondering if a different tool would help. Sometimes it will. Sometimes Mesh is fine and the gap is somewhere else. This page helps you tell which.

Is Clay the same as Mesh?

Yes. On March 26, 2026, the company posted “Today, Clay is becoming Mesh,” and said part of the reason was that the Clay.com domain belonged to another company. (Mesh announcement) The old clay.earth address now redirects to me.sh.

Clay.com is a separate sales data product. If you want the personal CRM, you want Mesh.

For a one on one breakdown, see FRONT OF MIND vs Mesh (formerly Clay). This page is the wider list.

What does Mesh do well?

Mesh pulls contacts from email, meetings and connected platforms, then shows a feed of birthdays, news mentions, career changes and reconnect prompts. It has an AI assistant called Nexus and runs on macOS, Windows, web, Android and iOS. (Mesh homepage)

Pricing as of October 2026, from the Mesh pricing page: Personal is free for up to 1,000 contacts, Pro is listed at $10 a month, Team is $40 per seat a month, and Enterprise is custom.

That free tier is generous. Any alternative has to beat it on something specific.

Where does each alternative win?

Each tool here is the right pick for someone. Here is who.

  1. Dex. The closest thing to Mesh. Reminders, calendar integration, contact sync and LinkedIn sync up to 2,500 connections on Premium. Pick it if you want Mesh with deeper LinkedIn, and do not mind paying from day one.
  2. folk. Built for teams: pipelines, enrichment, email, calendar and WhatsApp sync, and sequences on Premium. Pick it if a partner or associate works the same relationships. More in FRONT OF MIND vs folk.
  3. Covve. Unlimited card scanning on every plan, with event badge scanning on Pro. Pick it if you come home from conferences with a stack of cards.
  4. Cloze. Email, open tracking and a CRM without data entry, with team tiers that add text syncing and campaigns. Pick it if you want one tool for both relationships and outbound email.
  5. Monica. Unlimited contacts, notes and reminders, and an open source edition you can host yourself. Its pricing page said registration was closed as of October 2026, so new users may have to self host.
  6. Nat. Scans Gmail for conversations you owe a reply and emails you before meetings. No Outlook. Pick it if your relationships live in email. More in FRONT OF MIND vs Nat.
  7. FRONT OF MIND. Opens every morning on your 10 minutes for today. More below.

Which alternative actually tells you who to contact?

Most of the list stores people or reminds you. Very few decide for you. That distinction matters most if your income depends on who calls you first.

Say you know 800 people and can keep up with maybe 50. That is illustrative math. A feed of updates on all 800 is still 800 things to sort. What you need on a Tuesday is three names, why each one today, and what to say.

That is the job FRONT OF MIND does:

  • A one line reason per person. They posted, a birthday, you met at an event 12 days ago and never followed up, a follow up is due, a pipeline deal has been quiet 7 days or more, their company was in the news, or they are going cold.
  • A drafted text. 40 words max. Nothing sends without your tap, and it learns from your edits.
  • Only real signals. A post is shown only if it is confirmed to belong to that person.
  • Capture in seconds. Say a name and a sentence out loud, snap a card or badge, or take a selfie together. It is filed under the event.
  • Ask Liala. “Who do I know that is an M&A advisor” or “who lives in Miami,” and you get the right people with why.
  • Intros to make this week, with dated proof on both sides.

It runs in your phone’s browser, and you can save it to your home screen. There is no native iPhone app yet. It is $29 a month, free for your first 25 contacts and 1 intro, with a $500 Concierge setup if you want it done for you.

If FRONT OF MIND doesn’t surface people in your network worth reaching out to within 72 hours, we’ll refund you. No questions asked.

Should you leave Mesh? A five question checklist

Run this before you switch anything. It takes two minutes.

  1. Last week, did Mesh produce at least three real messages? If yes, stay.
  2. Do you have more than 1,000 contacts? If yes, you are paying for Pro anyway, so compare on features, not price.
  3. Does anyone else work your relationships? If yes, look at folk or Cloze, not a personal tool.
  4. Do most of your contacts come from events? If yes, look at Covve or FRONT OF MIND for capture.
  5. Do you see updates and still not know what to say? If yes, the gap is the draft, and FRONT OF MIND is built for that.

Before any switch, confirm you can export your data from the old tool. What happens to my contacts if I cancel lists what to check.
